This region, situated between Lompoc and Buellton is recognized internationally for its award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
In summer, while most of Santa Barbara County is basking in high temperatures, the geography of the Sta. Rita Hills funnels cool maritime fog from the coast up the valley, creating the ideal climate for growing exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Although the Sta. Rita Hills AVA is relatively small, it boasts an impressive list of sought-after wines. You’ll find these throughout the County, but most notably within the wineries scattered along the Lompoc Wine Trail, and in Lompoc.
Travel along either Route 246 or Santa Rosa Road, and you’ll enjoy classic vineyard vistas, dotted with estate wineries, each with their own story and style.
To round out this tasting region, we've included Buellton east of Hwy 101. Here you’ll find a mix of small and large wineries, dining and accommodation, and even a couple of breweries.
This unique area is not-to-be-missed! But don't just take our word for it. Check out what the media has been saying.
